After a long absence, I have returned to deviantART. I have been taking pictures, writing, and doing many other things besides, and I have a number of pieces to upload. I have improved a lot in photography and have come a long ways in mastering my main camera, the Nikon D40.

I received a new camera for Christmas, the Nikon D40. Despite being two years old, it's a great camera. Some pictures from it should be coming soon. I'm also trying to get back into writing again. Anyway, hope everyone had a good Christmas.

I submitted my first scrap today. It kind of made me curious about what other people put in their scraps, and I took a look a round. To set the record straight, this is not the first time I heard of scraps, it's just the first time I really thought about them.
Anyway, I would recommend looking at the scraps of your favorite artists. Even though the stuff there is not polished it can be good, better even the the stuff the more mediocre artists put out.
I still want to do photo compositions, and I think it would be cool to make a video. I was thinking of doing one over the summer, but it fell through.
Small addition: I have a new idea: make a new avatar and/or an author tag. I need one, actually.

I'm looking to start doing some photo composition, like awesome Night-fate, who is a master of digitally combining different photos. Anyway, I hope to submit writing, probably prose, soon. In the meantime I'll probably submit some fractal art and photographs. Anyway, I'd like to say the Keys to the Kingdom series by Garth Nix is awesome, along with the Abhorsen trilogy.

To add to the huge amount of posts with this title, I'm posting this to say I've come back. I probably won't check every day, but I'd like to comment on some of these great artists here that I remember from before, and post some of my own stuff. I'm not even sure if people remember me. I've only been gone 6 months or so, but whatever.
I have 247 deviations and 62 messages to read through/delete. So if you're wondering how many things pile up when you're gone for six months, that's my benchmark.
